Campbell Marketing Club places in top five at international competition

Dr. Kate Lawrence, associate professor of business, took three students to New Orleans for the American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference in March.

Members of the Campbell Marketing Club David Gaster, Zak Kas and Zac Winebarger attended the competition, which consisted of over 60 schools. The students placed in the top five teams in the Marketplace Business Simulations competition, making Campbell University the highest ranked school in North Carolina. This was the Marketing Club’s first foray into the international collegiate competition.

Zak Kas, a sophomore marketing major, said he came into college with the goal of taking the stage at an international competition. He called the experience “indescribable.”

“The American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference was amazing,” he said. “I’m very proud of this group of guys for placing in the top five. We were able to gain great knowledge and experience which will help the Campbell University Marketing Club continue to prosper. A special thanks to our advisor Kate Lawrence for helping make this all happen.”
