Business School completes virtual interview room

The Lundy-Fetterman School of Business recently completed updates on a newly renovated virtual interview room. Made possible by the Career Services office, the room has been equipped with the necessary technology and provides privacy and an atmosphere appropriate for virtual interviewing.

With a generous donation from Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, the business school renovated a room in the Lundy-Fetterman building, complete with soundproof tiles, a dedicated laptop, webcam and headset, and new lighting. All students are invited to use the room to comfortably engage in virtual interviews.

The virtual interview room debuted earlier this semester as part of the Campbell Business Virtual Academy, a threeday event of mock interviews held every 30 minutes. Director of Career Services Jill Williamson created the Academy to give students the skills and confidence needed for interviews. Daniel Polk (‘10) and Acacia Robinson of Modern Woodman, along with alumni Lorenzo Person (’17) and Marcus Thompson (‘15), volunteered to conduct mock interviews and gave valuable feedback to participating students. Each of the professionals gave tips and advice on appropriate dress and appearance as well as their surroundings and traditional, behavioral and hypothetical interview style pointers.

“Having the space and technology to conduct virtual interviews without interruption is vital in preparing our students with everything they need to conduct a professional and successful interview,” says Williamson. “Because of the times we are in, and the need for our students to be prepared, I’m planning another virtual academy in the spring. Talent Acquisition Specialists from Citrix have volunteered their time for that event and it’s great to know we can count on our Alumni and Corporate partners to help out!”

Students who are interested in reserving the interview room can reach out to Jill Williamson or Maurissa Miller to schedule a date.
