RALEIGH — Campbell Law School’s Professor Raluca Papadima will be recognized by The Romanian Academy in an online award ceremony today for the best law publication in 2018. The book that received this prestigious honor, just announced, was based on her PhD thesis, which had already received high accolades. The book, titled “European and Comparative Corporate and Business Law,” is written in French and was published in Romania in 2018
Professor Papadima’s book was the only law publication to receive an award from The Romanian Academy this year. Historically, several awards are given in this category each year, making the achievement even more meaningful, Papadima said.
The awards are given to the most representative Romanian scientific and cultural creations, made or published in 2018 in various fields, from law, literature, history, philosophy, fine arts, theater and music, to mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, agronomy, forestry, technical sciences and information technology.
“I am honored to receive this incredible distinction for my book and be recognized by The Romanian Academy among so many other talented scholars from all fields,” Papadima said.
Papadima is an Assistant Professor of Law, teaching a variety of business-related course, including Business Organizations, International Business Transactions, International Commercial Contracts and Arbitration. She led the team of Campbell Law advocates who made history earlier this year in the Willem C. Vis International Moot Court competition focused on international commercial contracts and arbitration.

Her background and experience are impressive and diverse. Papadima taught at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France) and the University of Bucharest (Romania) since 2012. She taught, among others, American, French, Romanian, European and International Business and Contract Law. She also spent over a decade as a corporate attorney at Latham & Watkins and Greenberg Traurig in New York.
Papadima has received various professional awards for her scholarship and has published three books, and multiple articles in American, French and Romanian law reviews.
