Buies Creek, N.C.—Jonathan H. Adler, professor of law and director of the Center for Business Law & Regulation at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, will deliver the next Politics, Law and Economics lecture on Monday, Feb. 7, at 4:30 p.m. in Lynch Auditorium of the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business. Adler will address free market environmentalism and property rights in his remarks.
The author or editor of four books on environmental policy and over a dozen book chapters, Adler’s articles have appeared in major publications ranging from the “Harvard Environmental Law Review” to “The Wall Street Journal” and “The Washington Post.” Adler is a contributing editor to National Review Online and a regular contributor to the popular legal blog, “The Volokh Conspiracy.” In 2004, Adler received the Paul M. Bator Award, given annually by the Federalist Society for law and policy studies to an academic under 40 for excellence in teaching, scholarship and commitment to students.
Adler graduated magna cum laude from Yale University and holds a Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law. Prior to joing the faculty at Case Wester, Adler clerked for the Honorable David B. Sentelle on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. From 1991-2000, he worked at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a free market research and advocacy group in Washington, D.C., where he directed the environmental studies program.
“Environmental law is an exciting, ever-changing and challenging field,” Adler writes. “Environmental concerns impact a wide range of policy questions and have far-reaching implications for the law and the world in which we live.”
The annual Politics, Law and Economics Lecture series is presented by the Lundy Chair of Business Philosophy in the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business. Admission is free and open to the public.
