October will be a busy month for Scott Concert Hall in the Taylor Bott Rogers Fine Arts Building at Campbell University. The Fine Arts department will host three events in the coming weeks — starting this Tuesday — featuring talented musicians playing a wide range of instruments.
Ardenuir: The Stone in the Sword
Oct. 11 | 8 p.m.
“Ardenuir: The Stone in the Sword” — artwork and story by Natalie van Gelder and piano music composed and performed by Dr. Vincent van Gelder, will be performed at 8 p.m. on Oct. 11 at Scott Concert Hall in the Taylor Bott Rogers Fine Arts Building.
Living Composers Concert
Oct. 20 | 8 p.m.
Campbell University will present “The Living Composers Concert” — featuring the music of Joshua Busman, Keith Dippre, Daniel McCloud, Clare Shore, Harvey Stokes and Betty Wishart — at 8 p.m. on Oct. 20 at Scott Concert Hall in the Taylor Bott Rogers Fine Arts building. The Living Composers Concert will offer various styles of music for a wide range of instruments including accordion, electric bass, Latin percussion, harp, piano, oboe, flute and marimba. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Pastoral Flute
Oct. 27 | 7 p.m.
Campbell University’s Fine Arts department will present “The Pastoral Flute,” a faculty recital performed by flutist Alison Mossey, adjunct professor of flute, and pianist Alisa Gilliam at 7 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Scott Concert Hall in the Taylor Bott Rogers Fine Arts Building.
