RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA — Campbell Law School’s Blanchard Community Law Clinic (BCLC) Director Rick Glazier is scheduled to speak at the 2023 Labor Legislative Conference at the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel on Feb. 8-9, 2023.
This is the second consecutive year Glazier, who is a former state legislator who most recently served as the executive director of the N.C. Justice Center, has been selected to speak at this conference.
The conference, hosted by The North Carolina State American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (NC State AFL-CIO), is the largest association of unions of working people in North Carolina, representing more than 100,000 members, working together for good jobs, safe workplaces, workers’ rights, consumer protections and quality public services on behalf of all working people.
Glazier’s presentation is entitled, “How to Effectively Lobby in the Legislature.” Glazier’s legislative experience is vast. The Legislator of the Year recipient spent 13 years in the N.C. General Assembly representing Cumberland County in the N.C. House of Representatives from 2003-2015. As a representative, Glazier served on the House judiciary, education, ethics and appropriations committees, among others.
At the conference, Glazier will share key, actionable insights with attendees regarding lobbying and speak from his expensive legislative experience. Glazier will take the floor at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8. At the event, attendees are expected to gain knowledge from educational presentations and training on the N.C. State AFL-CIO legislative agenda including a Labor Lobby Day to advocate for working people.
