Kivett receives Campbell University’s Full Tuition Scholarship

Buies Creek, N.C.-Courtney Nicole Kivett of Liberty, N.C. has received the Full Tuition Scholarship from Campbell University. Kivett plans to major in chemistry and attend pharmacy school after completing her undergraduate degree.

A graduate of Eastern Randolph High School, Kivett served as president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, was a member of the Beta Club and was active in volleyball, basketball and swimming. She is also a member of her youth group’s Worship and Drama team at the First Assembly of God Church in Asheboro.

Kivett, who has always been interested in science, said that it was a science teacher who suggested pharmacy as a career.

“I love chemistry,” she said. “The more I looked into pharmacy and talked to people who are pharmacists, it seemed like a good fit for me, one that will combine my interests with my profession.”

During the interview process for the Campbell scholarship, one question stood out in Kivett’s mind.

“They asked me what my definition of success was, and I remembering saying that it was impacting other people’s lives in a positive way, not for fame or money. Success is how people remember you, your legacy.”

Kivett is the daughter of Bobby and Maridee Kivett. She has two older brothers, Travis and Justin.
