Campbell Law’s Miguel Hernandez joins AMDiP planning, marketing committees

Campbell Law School’s Assistant Dean of Admissions Miguel Hernandez has been invited to join the Annual Meeting of Law School Diversity Professionals (AMDiP) annual meeting planning committee and marketing sub-committee.

AMDiP brings together law school Diversity, Equity and Inclusion professionals and supporters from around the country in a collaborative environment to promote networking, information and resource sharing, develop best practices for law school diversity services and advance the matriculation, retention and support of underrepresented students and graduates of U.S. law schools.

“I asked to join this committee because the cause is imperative,” Hernandez said. “Efforts toward equity and inclusion are long-standing traditions in this country from its inception and are deeply embedded in its culture. In as much as there is a history of exclusion anywhere in the world, there have always been, and will always be, champions to help create balance and access for the sake of all. I am honored to join this group of exceptional legal education professionals.”

Hernandez, who joined Campbell Law as Assistant Dean of Admissions on Sept. 19, 2022, is the first Hispanic dean to lead the school’s admissions and financial aid department.

In his role, Hernandez oversees the law school’s admissions process in its entirety, from prospective student interaction to application review and selection to financial aid, matriculation and orientation. He also represents Campbell Law at various community and professional recruitment events throughout the U.S.

Prior to joining Campbell Law, Hernandez served as interim Assistant Dean of Admissions at the University of North Texas (UNT) at Dallas College of La.Prior to his tenure at the UNT Law, which began in 2021, Hernandez served as Director of Marketing with Advertising Avenue, Director of Enrollment Management with Florida Atlantic University and Assistant Director of Admissions at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. He also served in recruitment roles at the University of California Berkeley, Arizona State University and NASA.

A proud veteran, Hernandez served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps rising to the rank of corporal.

Fluent in Spanish, he earned a master’s degree in Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in English.
