“Dr. Bowers has demonstrated a deep commitment to quality improvement and academic excellence,” said Dr. Scott Asbill, associate dean of Pharmacy & Academic Affairs. “His leadership in our assessment initiatives has already made a significant impact, and I’m confident he will continue to strengthen and elevate our college-wide assessment strategies in this expanded role.”

Dr. Bowers completed his PGY1 residency with Harnett Health and Campbell University and his PGY2 residency in Internal Medicine at Duke Regional Hospital. He is board certified in pharmacotherapy and cardiology pharmacy, an NCAP Fellow, and a recipient of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy’s Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Paper of the Year. Prior to this role, Dr. Bowers established a practice site in Internal Medicine at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he started and directed a PGY2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency in his first eight years on faculty with CPHS. He also advises both the Rho Chi and ASHP student organizations.
