Professors Kiu Sun Wah and Mark Merry, of Campbell University, recently completed teaching assignments at Tunku Abdul Raman College in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The associate professors of computer science and math taught computer science to students enrolled in Campbell’s Malaysian program.Dr. Kiu Sun Wah is a veteran of 16 years teaching experience at the undergraduate level. He is a qualified technical teacher of the British Commonwealth and was employed by IBM for over 14 years as a software engineer. He has had extensive experience in software development using C and C++ in the AIX and Windows environments. This is his second teaching experience at Tunku Abdul Rahman College, where he has also taught Network Communications and Business Data Communications.Prior to coming to Campbell, Dr. Mark Merry spent 13 years teaching both graduate and undergraduate students. He received a Ph.D. in Computer Information Science from Kent State University where he studied parallel algorithms and computational geometry. He has published numerous papers on reconfigurable meshes, parallel architecture and computational geometry. In addition, Merry has taught object oriented analysis and design, as well as Web services.Campbell’s Tunku Abdul Rahman program awards a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and offers a wide variety of programming classes with a focus on robotics. From an initial intake of 764 students with classes conducted in various centers in the Klang Valley in 1969, the Tunku Abdul Rahman College today includes a main campus and five branch campuses in Penang, Perak, Johor and Pahang. The association between TARC and Campbell began in 1979 with the Campbell’s program graduating 15 students in 1981, all of whom received Bachelor of Science degrees. Since that time the number of graduates has increased 100-fold.
