As Campbell University Divinity School approaches its 30th anniversary, Andy and Olivia Wakefield are helping shape its future through a transformational gift to the Center for Calling and Ministry.
Dr. Andy Wakefield, former dean of the Divinity School, serves as professor of New Testament and Greek and holds the James R. Coates Chair of Christian Divinity. Olivia Wakefield, a Campbell University alumna, is an adjunct professor in the School of Education and Human Sciences.
Their gift will support the ongoing work of the Divinity School and further the Center’s mission through the Emerson Paige Farris and Callen James Farris Endowed Fund for the Center for Calling and Ministry.
The Center for Calling and Ministry provides resources that strengthen cultures of calling and builds a network of partners committed to helping more people hear, discern and respond to God’s call.
Reflecting on their commitment to the Divinity School, Olivia Wakefield shared: “As a lifelong educator, I love being able to have a small part in the theological educational journey of the Campbell University Divinity School students. One of the things that keeps me engaged is the way the Divinity School is so intentional about creating a nurturing community that encourages students to be Christ-Centered, Bible-Based and Ministry-Focused. CUDS isn’t just interested in graduating students, but instead challenges students to grow in ways that change their own lives as well as the lives of those they encounter throughout their careers.”
