Brenda Blackman has been named director of Student Affairs for Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. Blackman transitioned into the role after serving as director of Pre-professional Advisement and Retention.
Blackman has served Campbell students for more than two decades in roles focused on academic advisement, recruitment, retention and student success. Her work has included guiding pre-pharmacy, pre-nursing and other pre-professional students as they prepared to apply to CPHS graduate and professional programs.
Throughout her time at Campbell, Blackman has helped students develop academically, professionally and personally. She advised the Pre-Pharmacy, Pre-Nursing and Pre-PA Clubs and directed the Moving Forward, Giving Back Leadership Certificate Program, which provided undergraduate students interested in pharmacy and nursing with opportunities to strengthen their leadership, professionalism and other skills essential to their future careers. She has also contributed to College initiatives designed to improve communication, engagement and access to student resources.
“Brenda has diligently served our CPHS pre-professional undergraduate students and is well positioned to support our graduate and professional students in her new capacity,” said Associate Dean for Student and Professional Affairs, Dr. Mark Moore.
In her new role, Blackman will build on her extensive experience working with Campbell students by supporting CPHS graduate and professional students throughout their academic journeys.
Blackman’s appointment reflects the College’s continued commitment to providing students with the guidance, resources and sense of community they need to succeed.
