BUIES CREEK – Campbell Business School students have once again teamed up with The Salvation Army to give local children a Christmas to remember. The Salvation Army has collected names of area children in need, and Campbell Business students are purchasing presents for those children in advance of the coming holiday. This marks the fourth year that Campbell Business students have taken part in the Angel Tree mission.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to give back because as a child I received gifts from organizations similar to the Salvation Army,” said a Campbell Business student who wishes to remain anonymous. “I remember how happy I was as a kid when I received those gifts and I am so thankful that now I am able to pay it forward.”
Campbell Business students, faculty, and staff will acquire gifts for 20 children in need this season, an increase from 15 a year ago. All gift donations will be collected and delivered to The Salvation Army for distribution to children in Harnett County.
“One of the defining characteristic of Campbell University is its commitment to serve others, particularly those in less fortunate circumstances,” said Campbell Business Dean Dr. Kevin O’Mara. “The Angel Tree is a perfect avenue to demonstrate our values so the speed at which the names came off the tree is encouraging yet not surprising. It is an honor to be part of such a community of students, faculty, and staff.”
