73 Campbell Law graduates pass July N.C. Bar Exam

RALEIGH, N.C. – Seventy-three Campbell Law graduates passed the July 2016 North Carolina Bar Exam, including 70 percent (66 of 94) of first time test takers. Seven repeat takers were also successful.

To date, 93.6 percent of the 139 graduates from the Class of 2015 who attempted a bar exam have now passed.

“First and foremost, we congratulate our 73 graduates who can now move full speed ahead with their dream of using the law to serve others,” said Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard. “We are delighted that 70 percent of our recent graduates were successful on their first attempt.

“We take very seriously our role in doing everything possible to help each and every graduate pass the bar exam, regardless of when or where they choose to do so. We are proud of the seven repeat passers that committed themselves to overcoming this professional obstacle, and we will be in touch with those that were unsuccessful to help them immediately prepare for their next attempt.”

In all, 66.82 percent of first time testers from the seven North Carolina law schools passed the examination, a 2.52 percent decrease from the previous year and a 19.45 percent decrease from 2011.

“The bar exam results over the past several years show clearly that North Carolina continues to be among the most challenging and difficult in the nation. While the impact is being shared all over the state, we continue to believe in our faculty, our curriculum and our bar preparation methods.”
