A Thanksgiving message from President Creed

Dear Campbell Family:

These past few weeks at Campbell University have brought all kinds of emotions, from joyful anticipation to profound sadness. Through each experience I have become only more grateful to be part of this community. You support each other, and you show up for each other.

You were our greatest asset when we began discussing two big developments we announced last week:

Both will enrich the student experience and boost the Campbell name in the state and region. Neither would have happened without you.

In the coming weeks, we’ll also graduate our first physical therapy students; and in May, our first medical students. These graduates will soon join our deep alumni pool who are making a difference in the lives of others through work, service, and leadership. I’m humbled each time alumni share with me how Campbell prepared them to lead and serve their communities around the state, nation, and world. You can hear from four alumni we honored during Homecoming at campbell.edu.

I am also touched by your outpouring of support following the recent death of a student. I saw you weep together and pray together. You showed up for each other and others beyond the campus community. We still have hard days ahead, but I find comfort in knowing we are in this together.

You remind me of the words Paul wrote in Romans 12:5:
“[S]o in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, I want to thank you for your heart for Campbell and for others. I’m grateful to be part of a university where people of all backgrounds can celebrate together and mourn together.

May God bless you, and may each of you have a hopeful Thanksgiving.

Brad Creed
President, Campbell University
