Allard elected vice president of board

The Reverend J. Charles Allard, of Apex, N.C. has been elected vice president of Campbell University’s Board of Ministers. The Board of Ministers is an advisory and participatory group which provides insight and assistance in the fulfillment of the university’s mission to provide Christian higher education to worthy students. Allard is senior pastor at Westwood Baptist Church in Cary, N.C. Prior to coming to Westwood, he was pastor of First Baptist Church of Morehead City and Missionary in Residence and instructor in the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Campbell University. He graduated from Furman University in 1961 and received his bachelor’s and master’s of divinity from the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Allard served as moderator of the Raleigh Baptist Association from 2001-2003, member of the board of directors of “The Biblical Recorder” and representative of the Raleigh Baptist Association to South Africa. Allard also served as assistant to the executive secretary of the Brazilian Baptist Home Mission Board and director of the Department of Evangelism in Ceara, Brazil. He is married to the former Gloria Little of Clarkton, N.C.
