Alumni Brothers of Campbell’s Kappa Psi succeed at Grand Council

Campbell University 2016 Winter Commencement

Before classes started back for the fall semester, the Brothers of the Delta Lambda Chapter of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Inc. attended the 57th Grand Council Convention (GCC). The Grand Council Convention is an international meeting held once every two years where Kappa Psi Brothers from all over the country come together for a week of meetings, fellowship, and fun. This GCC was held in the “Mile High City” of Denver, Colorado from Tuesday, August 4th through Saturday, August 8th.  There were twelve Collegiate Brothers and four Buies Creek Graduate Alumni Brothers that attended the convention.

Delta Lambda, Campbell University’s chapter, was recognized as an International Top Performing Chapter. Jordan Ballou, PharmD ’15, was awarded the Frank H. Eby Award, which is only given out once every two years during GCC to the Collegiate Brother who has contributed the most to Kappa Psi. Also, during GCC, a new International Executive Committee is elected. Melissa Buchanan, PharmD ’12, an alumnus of the Delta Lambda chapter, was elected as the 2015 – 2017 Grand Historian. This was the first time that a graduate of the Delta Lambda chapter was awarded the Frank H. Eby Award and also the first time that a graduate was elected as an international officer.

“This is an exciting time for the Delta Lambda and Buies Creek Graduate chapters of Kappa Psi,” said Leigh Liles Foushee, PharmD ’00, faculty advisor for the Delta Lambda chapter. “These accolades demonstrate the strength of our brotherhood and our desire to foster high ideals among our members. I am so proud to be a brother of this great group of leaders!”
