Buies Creek, N.C. –Amber Lauren Stogner, of Clayton, N.C., has received the J. Hunter and Mabel C. Strickland Memorial Scholarship from Campbell University. As a Strickland Scholarship recipient, Stogner receives full tuition, room and board and $500 annually toward the purchase of books and supplies. The scholarship is valued at over $80,000.”As most high school students do, I have changed my mind a thousand times about what college I want to attend,” said Stogner, who is a senior at Clayton High School. “However, for the past year, I have become more and more interested in the opportunities I can take advantage of at Campbell. It offers the small-town university feel that I’m looking for in a college and a strong religious background.”Stogner, who is active in the band program at Clayton High School, is also an active member of the Key Club and has completed several hours of community service. She also works with service programs and Bible school programs at her church, Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Garner, N.C.Stogner said she believes Campbell to be a “stepping stone” to future success for her. “I feel that it is the place where God is leading me to attend,” she said.
