Angier resident elected to Campbell Board of Trustees

Buies Creek, N.C.-L. Stuart Surles of Angier, N.C. has been elected to the Campbell University Board of Trustees. Surles is president of Stuart Surles Insurance, Inc.

A graduate of Campbell University, Surles received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration while farming five acres of his own tobacco and working part- time to put himself through school. He is actively involved in his community, serving as a member of the board of directors for the Harnett County Department of Social Services and as charter president of the Angier Rotary Club. Surles has also served on Campbell University’s Presidential Board of Advisors and is the recipient of the Adam Smith Club Free Enterprise award presented by Campbell’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business.

His professional honors include the Outstanding Service award from the National Crop Insurance Service and the Platinum Sales Award from the Rural Community Insurance Services organization.

Surles is a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Angier and a former deacon at North Hickory Church in Angier. He is the father of two daughters, Brooke and Morgan, a 2009 graduate of Campbell University.
