A collection of watercolors, paintings and quilts are on display at the E.P. Sauls Gallery of the Taylor Bott Rogers Fine Arts Center at Campbell University through September 11.
Daniel Rodgers, professor of Graphic Design; Breck Smith, associate professor of art; and Sarah Campany, folk artist, are showcasing their talent.
“My journey into the realms of watercolors continue,” said Rodgers. “I hope to keep my paintings rich and simple.”
Smith chose to display his abstract art through oils, acrylics, and some color pencil.
“Recently, I have been painting abstractions using a method that is similar to a technique reportedly used by the 17th century Japanese haiku poet, Basho.”
Sarah Campany, a folk artist born in 1932, displays quilts, floral arrangements, paintings and stitch work. She spent 30 years as an educator to deaf children. Beyond teaching deaf children to speak, her passion has always been in arts and crafts.
Located on the first floor of the Rogers Fine Arts Center, the E.P. Sauls Gallery is open from 8:30 until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Admission is free.
