Art students’ designs used for Campbell theatre productions

BUIES CREEK – Two students in Campbell’s arts department earned the right to have their posters used by the University’s theatre department.

Junior Laura Guzman of Raleigh designed the poster used for the recently finished production of “A Year with Frog & Toad,” directed by Professor E. Bert Wallace. Junior Michal Hatley of Iron Station designed the poster for the upcoming play,

“Reviving Ophelia,” which opens Nov. 16, and will be produced by Professor Georgia Martin.

The contest is part of a collaboration between the theatre and art departments, according to Daniel Rodgers, associate professor of art/design and faculty advisor for the American Institute of Graphic Arts.

“I enjoy the fact that it gives the students the opportunity to compete and potentially have professionally printed pieces for their portfolio,” Rodgers said.

Hatley is president of the AIGA’s student group at Campbell.

“Reviving Ophelia” runs Nov. 16-19 at the Taylor Bott Rodgers Fine Arts Building. Showtime is 7 p.m. each night.
