RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law School Dean Melissa Essary announced today that Terrence M. Bagley has been selected to serve as Campbell Law Board of Visitors Chair.
A 1982 graduate of Campbell Law, Bagley has served on the board since its inception in 2010. He is currently the deputy managing partner / head of litigation for McGuireWoods. His practice focuses on products liability, commercial litigation and toxic tort. He is also the chairman of the firm’s consumer products safety team.
McGuireWoods is a 900-lawyer firm with 20 offices in the U.S. and abroad.
“I am very excited to serve as Chair of the Board of Visitors,” said Bagley. “This is an exciting time at Campbell Law School, and I look forward to working with our prestigious Board in fulfilling our law school’s vision, while maintaining our reputation as a special and unique place which produces the highest quality lawyer.”
Bagley has tried cases in state and federal courts across the country, and has argued cases in state and federal appellate courts. He has extensive experience in defending clients in automotive, power products, and toxic tort.
A dynamic group of legal and industry leaders, the Campbell Law Board of Visitors includes the Clerk of United States Supreme Court, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina, the Vice President and Chief Counsel of Kellogg’s Employment, Labor and Intellectual Property, managing partners of national and regional law firms, and business leaders.
The board assists the dean, faculty, and leadership in developing and evaluating strategic planning efforts and launching new initiatives. The group also serves as a sounding board to evaluate ideas, while helping to develop and foster important relationships throughout the legal and business community, nonprofit organizations, higher education, and government agencies in an effort to enhance all aspects of the law school.
