Patricia Barker, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., has been elected to the Campbell University Presidential Board of Advisors. Barker is the executive vice president of the Bob Barker Company, the industry’s largest supplier of institutional products and supplies to correctional facilities worldwide, as well as rehabilitation facilities, homeless shelters and schools throughout the United States. In addition to the company’s headquarters and major distribution facility in Fuquay-Varina, a branch office and distribution center are located in Ogden, Utah. Patricia Barker is the wife of Bob Barker, chairman of the board and CEO of the company.A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Barker earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry. She went on to receive a master’s degree in organic chemistry and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University.After working as a chemist for awhile, Barker chose to join her husband at the Bob Barker Company, working her way up from office manager to executive vice president.”I’ve learned a lot and had a great time,” she said. “Watching the company grow has been very exciting.”A member of Woodhaven Baptist Church, Barker has served as member and chair of the Nominating and Stewardship committees and as a member of the Building Committee among other responsibilities.Barker is also active in civic life, having served as a member, secretary and president of the Apex Jaycettes, member and secretary of the Apex Woman’s Club, member of the Wake County Commission on Women and numerous other organizations.She and her husband are the parents of two children, a daughter Nancy Barker Johns and a son Robert Barker.
