Beavers elected TALRA President

RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law Career & Professional Development Center Director Julie Beavers was recently elected Triangle Area Legal Recruitment Administrator (TALRA) President. A founding member of TALRA, Beavers has served in her capacity at Campbell Law since 2008.

“I am honored that my peers, many of whom have served in the legal profession with me for over 20 years, elected me to lead the organization,” said Beavers. “With a focus on professionalism and progress, TALRA members greatly value relationships fostered within the group as we look to enhance programs and processes within our individual organizations while collectively making a positive impact on the greater legal community.”

Founded in 1994, TALRA is a professional development partnership between legal recruiting professionals from law firms and law school career services staff from all seven law schools in North Carolina. The mission of the organization is to improve and promote the quality of legal recruiting and career development for lawyers and law students in North Carolina.

Beavers boasts more than 20 years of experience in talent management, recruiting and professional development in professional services. She previously held leadership roles in TALRA and the National Association of Legal Career Professionals.

Beavers began her career in recruiting with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, LLP, a large corporate law firm based in the southeast. During her 13-year career at Womble Carlyle, she managed campus and lateral recruiting as well as the summer associate program for the Raleigh and Research Triangle Park offices in North Carolina. In addition to recruiting, she also managed the associate professional development program.

Following her time at Womble, Beavers joined RSM McGladrey, Inc., the fifth-largest U.S. provider of assurance, tax and consulting services, as the Campus Recruiting Manager for the Carolinas Economic Unit where her responsibilities included entry-level hiring, university relations and diversity recruiting programs.
