Buies Creek, N.C.-A tale of the high seas, full of adventure, murder and romance, Margaret Hoffman Kale’s “Blackbeard: A Tale of Villainy and Murder in Colonial America,” is a best-selling account of the notorious pirate who terrorized the coast of North Carolina during the 1700s. Kale will be the featured speaker at Campbell University’s annual lecture sponsored by the honor societies Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Gamma Mu in association with the North Carolina Humanities Council. The lecture is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. in Hartness Lecture Hall of the Science building. Admission is free and open to the public.
Margaret Hoffman Kale has taught creative writing in art centers and colleges throughout the South and has published short stories and poetry in numerous literary magazines. She has worked as a public relations consultant, reporter, researcher and free lance writer for such papers as the Atlanta Journal and Constitution and the Winston-Salem Journal. Kale received a master’s degree in English literature from George Mason University.
