Braswell receives Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award

Buies Creek–Distinguished theological educator, Baptist leader and missionary to the Middle East, Dr. George Braswell has received the 2008 Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award from the Campbell University Divinity School. Braswell is Senior Professor of World Religions.”Most significant in Dr. Braswell’s service is his leadership during the past academic year in the opening of the Divinity School’s first Center for the Study of World Religions and Global Cultures,” said Dr. Michael Cogdill, dean of the Divinity School. “The purpose of this Center is to advance the study and awareness of the many global cultures surrounding our own and helping students and others learn effective ways to proclaim the gospel of Christ in a multi-cultural world.”A graduate of Wake Forest University and Yale Divinity School, Braswell earned a Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
