RALEIGH – Campbell Law School’s Hispanic Law Student Association (HLSA) executive board members have chosen Brianne Gallo ’25 as the recipient of this year’s Alondra Bribiesca Scholarship.

The summer scholarship is intended for “a student who has exemplified courage in the face of adversity,” a trait exemplified by the scholarship namesake, Alondra Bribiesca ‘20.

Students who apply for the scholarship have to write an essay explaining what they can do to make Campbell Law a more inclusive place.

Students who apply for the scholarship have to write an essay explaining what they can do to make Campbell Law a more inclusive place. “Brianne’s essay stood out to the entire HLSA E-board as empowering,” said HLSA President Genesis Torres ’23. “She is a student who is ready to make a difference in the community.”

Gallo said being selected as the recipient of the Alondra Bribiesca Scholarship is a great honor.

“I am very grateful to be receiving this scholarship,” Gallo said. “I have been involved in HLSA since the fall semester and I look forward to continuing my support and participation within the organization.

“In my essay for the competition, I talked about assisting with creating a more inclusive environment for new law students. I look forward to working with the executive board of HLSA to make this happen. As a 1L, it was hard to adjust to law school. The members of HLSA assisted me and made me feel welcome. I hope to be able to do this for future students.”

Gallo earned her bachelor’s degree from Thiel College, where she majored in criminal justice, and minored in Spanish with an added focus on accounting. While completing her undergraduate work, she had the opportunity to intern for the Department of Defense, where she worked in the Cyber Security Operations Division, according to her LinkedIn profile.
