RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law Assistant Dean of Administration Ulmer Zack “Zeke” Bridges, III, has been named a 2015 40 Under 40 award winner by the Triangle Business Journal. A 2003 Campbell Law graduate, Bridges will be recognized at an awards luncheon on June 11 at Prestonwood Country Club in nearby Cary.
“I am humbled to receive this honor from the Triangle Business Journal,” said Bridges. “It is especially rewarding to be selected among so many bright leaders in our community. I hope that this will ultimately reinforce the ways in which Campbell Law School continues to grow and excel.”
Bridges serves as the law school’s chief financial officer. He also oversees human resources, the physical facility, technology, and student life and pro bono services.
In addition to Campbell Law, Bridges is deeply involved in the legal community. Last December he was elected to the Wake County Bar Association & Tenth Judicial District Bar (WCBA/TJD) Board of Directors. Bridges was also named to the North Carolina Bar Association Leadership Academy’s Class of 2014, and he serves on several WCBA/TJD committees. Professionally, he received the Martindale-Hubbell® AV® Preeminent™ rating.
In the community Bridges sits on the board of directors for Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina and New Waverly Place, and he serves as the vice president of the board for deVintage. He has volunteered with Legal Aid of North Carolina’s Lawyer on the Line, and the North Carolina Bar Association’s 4ALL event among others.
“Early into my deanship I recognized Zeke’s ability to get things done,” said Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard. “I am glad that his hard work will be recognized by the professional community at large.”
A native of Blakely, Ga., Bridges obtained an associate of arts degree from Young Harris College in 1997, followed by earning two B.A. degrees in political science and criminal justice from the University of Georgia in 1999. He then attended Campbell Law School, where he served as Campbell Law Student Bar Association President in 2003, law library assistant, and a law school ambassador. Bridges was also active with the Campbell Law Observer, Christian Legal Society, and Men’s Legal Caucus, and was a research assistant for Webster’s Real Estate Law in North Carolina. He collected both the Howard Christian Citizenship Award and the David Teddy Innovative Leadership and Service Award. Bridges was also named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.
Following graduation from Campbell Law, Bridges founded Bridges Law Firm, PLLC, in Cary, N.C. In October 2009 he co-founded Western Wake Law Group, focusing primarily on contract drafting, estate planning, and real estate while serving as managing partner at the firm’s principal office. He returned to Campbell Law in January 2013 as the director of mentorship.
