Business school names Direct Aid Scholarship recipient

BUIES CREEK — Danielle Barnes of Scotland Neck, N.C., has been named the recipient of the 2012 Direct Aid Scholarship from Wright Investors’ Service, Inc. and Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business. Barnes is a junior at Campbell University, where she’s a trust and wealth management and pre-law major in the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business.

The Direct Aid Scholarship awards a $2,500 scholarship each year to one deserving student. Criteria for applicants include a GPA of 3.00 or greater, junior status in the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business and completion of a 2,000-word essay.  This year’s essay topic was “Trust Departments and Brokerage Departments owned by the Same Bank – Friends of Foes?”

The scholarship contest was developed to encourage and award academic excellence for students pursuing studies in the areas of business, trust and finance.
