Business students advise and encourage future leaders

Nine Campbell Business students visited Fuquay Varina High School this month to share college advice and encouragement and take part in a leadership panel. Coordinated by Emily Jessee, the students acted as guest speakers at the high school’s Leadership Luncheon series while another group shared specifically with a cohort leadership course taught by Karen Garmon.

Focusing on the theme “Finding Your Purpose, Passion and People Beyond High School,” Campbell students discussed strategies for transitioning to college, extracurricular opportunities, hardships finding a niche in a larger community and ways to connect with other students. They also explored the idea of purpose and how it affected their choice of college, major and career path; the Leadership Luncheon presentation topics included “Choosing a college and major” and “All you want to know about college but are too afraid to ask.”

“Our students were able to not only share with the high school students advice and encouragement for the college application process and transition, but also offered guidance on finding fit and feeling confident in your calling,” said Director of Leadership Development & Student Success Renee Green. “I’m excited to see where this partnership can go – and how our students can give back and grow through these experiences.”
