BUIES CREEK — Campbell Business Dean Keith Faulkner has been named the next dean of the Liberty University School of Law. Faulkner will assume his new position Oct. 1.
Faulkner has served as dean of Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business since January 2014. He has been instrumental in the development of a new finance major, the creation of the First Citizens Wealth Management Center, and the expansion of the MBA program to downtown Raleigh.
“I have enjoyed my almost 12 years at Campbell University tremendously,” Faulkner said. “Serving my alma mater as interim dean at Campbell Law and as dean of Campbell Business will always bring special memories to mind. I have been fortunate to be a part of Campbell University’s explosive growth and to have led some very fruitful strategic initiatives. Campbell will always be close to my heart wherever I serve.”
Prior to his arrival at the business school, Faulkner was at the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, where he worked in a number of positions from 2004 to 2013, including as associate dean for external relations, executive associate dean for administration and academic affairs, vice dean for administration and external relations, and interim dean. While at the law school, he was also a visiting professor for the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business for over eight years.
“Dean Faulkner has been an outstanding leader at Campbell — both at the law school and the business school,” Campbell Provost Mark L. Hammond said. “His integrity, vision and enthusiasm for the education and preparation of students makes him an outstanding leader of higher education.
“He laid a solid foundation at Campbell Business that we will build off to continue to strengthen the school.”
Campbell Business offers nine undergraduate degree programs, including classic business degrees in accounting, business administration, economics/economics pre-law, international business, and marketing. Innovative business programs include healthcare management; golf management, which is one of only 19 certified by the PGA in the U.S.; and trust and wealth management, the only one of its kind in the nation.
Campbell Business also offers the BBA/MBA — 3/2 Option in which students can earn a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration in five years, as well master’s programs in business administration and trust and wealth management. In September 2014, Campbell Business launched five international certificate programs with the University of Reading in Reading, England.
This fall, Campbell Business will begin offering an undergraduate degree in finance and will relocate its part-time Master of Business Administration program to Campbell Law in downtown Raleigh. A Master of Trust & Wealth Management program has been located at Campbell Law since 2011.
Faulkner received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Charleston Southern University, a Juris Doctor from Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, and a Master of Business Administration from the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business.
“I am very thankful for Keith Faulkner’s years of service to Campbell,” Hammond said. “He will be greatly missed.”
