CHAPEL HILL – More than a dozen female Campbell Business students attended the 12th annual Women in Business Conference at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Friday, Nov. 10. The students in attendance heard stories of inspiration from successful women in leadership roles throughout several different business sectors. Students had the opportunity to network with the professionals, as well as grow in their knowledge of what it means to be a woman in the business world.
“One speaker discussed advocating for other women in the work place and I think it was one of the things that impacted me most,” said Campbell Business student Meleny Cruz. “Working in a male dominated work place as a woman can be difficult, so when another woman goes out of their way to advocate for you it’s encouraging and reassuring.”
“The Women in Business Conference was such a fun experience,” said Campbell Business student Haley Weaver. “I had the opportunity to talk with a lot of great female leaders and hear their stories. It inspired me to keep striving and to not be afraid to lead, and lead as a woman, even when there are times that it seems impossible. To all the women who think it is, it’s not.”
