Campbell Business holds seminar on “Broken Glass Fallacy”

Campbell University 2016 Winter Commencement

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell Business School Lundy Chair Dr. Boris Abbey and Americans for Prosperity (AFP) Foundation student representatives Christopher West and Garret Daniels recently organized and delivered a seminar on the economic “Broken Glass Fallacy” theory. The theory explores the unintended consequences of economic decisions.

AFP New Jersey State Director Daryn Iwicki and AFP North Carolina Campus Director Emma Benson also participated, discussing the implications when economic ideology doesn’t match reality. The speakers actively engaged students who learned how to consider both the obvious and not-so-obvious effects of government policies, and how to work together to create solid arguments against more government in our lives.

The event was held in conjunction with Dr. Abbey’s Political, Legal and Economic lecture series. Students from all backgrounds attended the event, including Dr. Abbey’s Philosophy of Business class, and members of the Young Americans for Liberty student group.

AFP educates students on an alternative perspective regarding political issues.

“It is reassuring to see that common sense and a sense of civic duty are not dead,” said Campbell Business junior Trust & Wealth Management student Sam Savage. “I eagerly hope Americans for Prosperity is able to reach a larger audience to educate them on these critical issues facing our country.”
