Campbell Business holds third annual internship and career fair

Business - Career FairBUIES CREEK – More than 20 employers recruited for summer internships and permanent hires at the third annual Campbell Business internship and career fair on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Eight prospective employers made their first appearance at the fair, while more than 300 Campbell Business students participated to distribute resumes, network, and seek out information from participating organizations.

“It is gratifying to see the halls of Campbell Business crowded and energized with students interviewing with company representatives,” said Campbell Business Dean Dr. Kevin O’Mara. “The event has grown substantially in recent years thanks to the considerable efforts of Lisa Youngquist. It provides local and regional companies the chance to meet our students while showcasing their companies’ opportunities and culture. The companies, Campbell Business, and, most importantly, our students all benefit from these interactions. Strong relationships with employers, based on delivering a high caliber and hardworking student, is the lifeblood of a quality business school. We cannot thank our employers enough.”

Nine prospective employers made their first appearance at the fair, including Myca Group, the Transportation Security Administration, John Hiester Chevrolet/Dodge, Warren Oil Company, Mackay Communications, Merrill Lynch, Total Body, House-Autry, and Zaxby’s. Returning organizations included Boon Edam, the N.C. Department of Revenue, Relias Learning, Johnston County Industries, Northwestern Mutual, St. Joseph of the Pines, ProVantage, Modern Woodman, and AXA Insurance.

“Employers are always so genuinely surprised with the quality of our students,” said Campbell Business Career Services and Professional Development Coordinator Lisa Youngquist. “Our partners often comment on the uniqueness of the “service over self” mentality that our business students display. It’s what keeps bringing them back year after year!”
