BUIES CREEK — Campbell Business School honored alumni Bradley J. Newkirk and Paul J. Griffin during its 2014 Alumni Convocation on Oct. 17 during homecoming festivities. Newkirk was presented with the 2014 Outstanding Alumnus Award, while Griffin received the 2014 Outstanding Young Alumnus Award.
“Bradley Newkirk and Paul Griffin are fine representatives of Campbell Business and our greater university as a whole,” said Campbell Business Dean Keith Faulkner. “Both are exceptional leaders in their industries, and they maintain close, beneficial relationships with Campbell Business. Their character and career successes are the perfect example for our current students to learn from and aspire to obtain.”
A 1975 Campbell Business graduate with a B.S. in Business Administration, Newkirk is a Partner with Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP, the largest southern based CPA firm in the United States, serving clients across the country and internationally. He is the Managing Partner of the firm's Assurance Service Line, the Lead Partner of the firm's Private Equity Group Services for portfolio companies, and the Market Leader for the Triad Practice of the firm. He also serves on the firm’s Executive Committee.
At Dixon Hughes Goodman, Newkirk provides accounting and auditing services to a variety of public and private companies, including private equity entities and portfolio companies such as manufacturers, distributorships, real estate development entities, professional service companies, and construction contractors. He has also provided litigation support services, including expert witness services related to accounting and auditing matters, and has taught seminars throughout the United States on accounting standards, auditing topics and fraudulent financial reporting.
Griffin earned a Juris Doctor / Masters of Business Administration dual degree from Campbell Business and Campbell Law in 2011. He is currently the General Counsel at The Select Group, an award-winning, full-service recruiting company, specializing in the placement of technology and engineering professionals.
Griffin is the first and only in-house attorney for the firm, responsible for all legal matters including corporate transactions, governance, compliance, real estate, litigation, immigration, employment law, intellectual property, and commercial contracts.
