Campbell Business School names Distinguished Alumni at convocation

Buies Creek, N.C.-Dunn attorney Lynn Matthews and North Carolina Senior Trust Examiner Dennis Bellefeuille, of Rocky Mount, N.C., were named the 2009 Distinguished Alumni of Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the school’s opening convocation ceremony.

“These two former students are not only successful, but they love Campbell above all,” said President Jerry M. Wallace. “The character and the goodness of their lives are the legacy of Campbell University.”

A native of Watertown, N.Y., Lynn Aldrich Matthews received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Campbell in 1995, her law degree from Campbell’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 1998 and a Master of Business Administration from Campbell in 2001.

During her educational career, Matthews was a member of the university’s first Women’s Soccer team. She is currently a private practice attorney specializing in commercial and residential real estate law in Dunn. In addition, Matthews serves on the advisory board for Four Oaks Bank and is a member of the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce. She and her husband Donnie are the parents of two daughters, Addison, age 6, and Kennady, age 4 months. Matthews received the Distinguished Young Alumna Award.

Dennis I. Bellefeuille received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Trust Management from Campbell in 1968 and completed his MBA in 1972. He began his career as an assistant trust officer with South Carolina National Bank and served as senior vice president and senior trust officer with Peoples Bank & Trust Co. from 1976-1994. He currently serves the financial services industry and the state of North Carolina as Senior Trust Examiner in the Office of the Commissioner of Banks.

Bellefeuille has been a member of the board of directors of the Campbell Trust Education Foundation since 1998 and was chairman of the Foundation on three different occasions. As a student at Campbell, he was president of the Gilbert T. Stephenson Trust Club and selected MBA Student of the Year by the Financial Executives Institute. He and his wife Elizabeth are the parents of daughters, Claire Bellefeuille and Karen Roth.

The Lundy-Fetterman School of Business welcomed 128 students.
