Campbell Business student places 19th at Latin America Amateur Championship

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA – Campbell Business sophomore Gaston Bertinotti finished 19th overall following the final round of the Latin America Amateur Championship at Pilar Golf on Sunday, January 18. Bertinotti is a member of the men’s golf team at Campbell.

A native of Argentina, Bertinotti shot 68-78-66-78—290 on the par-72, 7233-yard Pilar Golf layout. Mafias Dominguez of Chile won the event and a berth in The Master's after shooting 72-65-69-71–277, one stroke better than runner-up Alejandro Tonti of Argentina (69-70-68-71–278).

Bertinotti recorded a 73.17 stroke average last fall as a sophomore at Campbell. The 2014 Big South Conference Championship runner-up earned his first collegiate career victory Oct. 19-21 at the ODU/OBX Collegiate.
