Campbell Business students present research at symposiums

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Two Campbell Business students recently gave presentations on their research and findings at academic symposiums. Andrew Ryan Hall participated at the Wiggins Memorial Library Academic Symposium on March 23, while Rebekah Felts took part in the Big South Undergraduate Research Symposium (BigSURS) on April 11.

Hall, a student in 3/2 program, explored the impact of demonstrated procedural justice on the perceived legitimacy in the sexual assault reporting process. During his presentation, he touched on Title IX, organizational behavior, procedural justice, the reporting process, ethics, effective applicable techniques, and the effects of sexual violence.

Felts, who studies marketing, presented findings on her research into measuring and comparing the values of female shoppers in a retail environment based on their age and hours worked per week. Her research could prove very valuable to marketers in determining and designing retail environments that appeal to professional females.

“I am very proud of Andrew and Rebekah for taking part in these symposiums,” said Campbell Business Dean Keith Faulkner. “Their research was insightful and well done, and they both served as great representatives of our university community.”

The Wiggins Memorial Library Academic Symposium, now in its fifth year, offered a platform for more than 130 undergraduate and graduate students from across the university to showcase their research findings and creative activities.

BigSURS is a regional undergraduate research symposium held by the colleges in the Big South Athletic Conference. The event provides undergraduate scholars in all fields a forum to share the results of their work through posters, presentations, performances, and works of art.
