Campbell University moved up 70 spots in the Best for Vets 2024 ranking, an annual ranking released last week by Military Times. Campbell, which ranked 84th in the nation (out of more than 300 colleges and universities), was again the only four-year private university in North Carolina to make the list.
Military Times Best for Vets: Colleges is the largest and most comprehensive ranking of the best schools for military service members and veterans. The ranking looks at services available to veterans and practical information that will help veterans make important decisions about their career planning and how to use the education benefits they earned through military service.
Campbell Provost Dr. Michael Adams acknowledged the work done by Amanda McRae, director of veterans affairs, her team and the Adult & Online Education team led by Dean Nicole Winget and credited them for the University’s significant rise in the rankings.
“Their dedicated support has contributed to Campbell University’s impressive leap, ranking them among the best institutions for veterans,” Adams said. “I am very proud and honored for Campbell to be recognized on this list.”
In addition to ranking 84th nationally, Campbell ranks 23rd in the Southeast and 15th among nonprofit private schools in terms of its service to military veterans. In February of last year, Campbell’s Adult & Online Education program also ranked in the Top 25 percent of schools in the nation (48th overall) for its online bachelor’s program for veterans, according to U.S. News & World Report.
Campbell has a long history of providing education opportunities to service members, veterans and their families. More than 700 veterans are currently enrolled at Campbell, which is regularly recognized as one of the top “Military Friendly” schools in the nation. Campbell is a member of the Yellow Ribbon Program, designed to allow institutions of higher learning to enter into an agreement with Veterans Affairs to fund tuition and fee expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate.
