Buies Creek, N.C.-What is entrepreneurship? How does it affect our future and the future of our nation? Campbell University’s new summer business program introduces high school students to the concept of entrepreneurship and the free enterprise system by giving them a chance to experience the world of business first-hand. The camp will be conducted June 14-17. The enrollment deadline has been extended until Thursday, June 4.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn directly from successful business leaders,” said Dr. Derek Yonai, Lundy Chair of Business Philosophy for Campbell’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business. “Students will attend stimulating and thought provoking lectures from college faculty and business professionals and even participate in business planning simulations.”
In addition, students will tour a successful local business to learn about daily operations, participate in evening rap sessions with faculty and local business leaders and acclimate themselves to the college campus atmosphere.
“It is a great chance to enhance their resume for career or future college applications and to grasp the importance of entrepreneurial development in our nation, especially in these economic times,” Yonai said.
Students enrolled in the program will reside in Barker Hall, the newest dormitory on the Campbell campus. Each will have a private room with high-speed Internet access and meals will be provided at campus dining halls.
The cost of the program is $199 per person ($99 for children of Campbell employees), which covers all expenses from housing and meals to program materials and activities. In addition, there are scholarships available on a need-based, first-come, first-served basis.
