The pharmacy student team from Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences finished in the top ten at the 2011 American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ (ASHP) 16th National Clinical Skills Competition on December 4, 2011 in New Orleans.

Team members Karyn Fabo and Clayton Moore, both 2012 student pharmacists, won the preliminary competition at Campbell and went on to compete in the national competition against a record 115 pharmacy schools.

The University of Washington School of Pharmacy came out on top, with Harding University College of Pharmacy in second, and Jefferson School of Pharmacy rounding out the top three (see below for top ten teams).

The Clinical Skills Competition is an interactive, team-based analysis of clinical scenarios that focuses on determining the best use of medications for patients.

Fabo and Moore were also on the winning Campbell team that claimed the title of the 2011 American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Clinical Pharmacy Challenge in October.
