RALEIGH — Campbell Law School Dean J. Rich Leonard has announced Ginger Evans ’28, Lauren Resor ’28, Aaron Walls ’28 and Gusty Vouk ’28 as the 2025 recipients of the law school’s four highly prestigious, full-tuition competitive scholarships.
Evans, who is a native of Greenville, North Carolina, is the recipient of the Cheshire Schneider Advocacy Scholarship, which is awarded annually to one student with demonstrable success in advocacy programs such as debate or mock trial during high school and/or college experiences. A graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Political Science, she has gained meaningful experience across multiple sectors of the legal system. She currently works as a group lead for Jury X in Chapel Hill and she interned with the Law Offices of Ashley-Nicole Russell in Greenville and the North Carolina Collaborative Attorney Network.
Resor, who lives in Chapel Hill, is the recipient of the Ben & Patrice Thompson Achievement Scholarship, which is awarded annually to one high-achieving student who has overcome significant obstacles in life, such as socio-economic or educational hardships, disabilities or other major challenges. A graduate of the UNC-Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in English and Comparative Literature and Political Science with a minor in Women and Gender Studies, Resor is currently working full-time for Investors Title Insurance Co. as a N.C. Title Insurance Underwriter in Chapel Hill. She also served as a research intern at UNC-Chapel Hill where she completed a self-directed literary analysis project on the European Union Prize for Literature, funded through the Carolina Covenant’s Beyond Completion Grant.
Walls, who hails from Cameron, North Carolina, is the recipient of the Janette Soles Nelson Public Service Scholarship, which is given each year to one exceptionally qualified student with plans to practice law in service to the public. Walls has more than 20 years of military experience in the U.S. Army, leading teams ranging from four to 30 in combat through deployments to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Southwest Asia and Northern Africa. He also has planned and executed more than 50 large-scale Airborne Operations and delivered intelligence and reconnaissance briefings to executive-level leadership, including Undersecretaries of the U.S. Departments of State and Defense. Most recently, he interned with the Lee County District Attorney’s Office and worked as an investigator for L&N Attorneys at Law. He is set to earn his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Campbell University in May 2025.
Vouk, who lives in Fayetteville, North Carolina, is the recipient of the Leary & Joy Davis Leadership Scholarship, awarded annually to one student with demonstrated leadership skills and the potential to become a leader in the law. Specializing in information operations, Vouk concurrently serves as a Department of the Army Civilian and as an Air Force Reserve Officer with combat deployment to Afghanistan. She earned a master’s degree in Criminal Justice/Homeland Security from Saint Joseph’s University, a paralegal certificate from Duke University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Loyola Marymount University. Vouk has also completed national security coursework at Georgetown University, the U.S. Army War College, Arizona State University’s Air Command and Staff College, Naval Command and Staff College, and, most recently, the rigorous Psychological Operations Qualification Course at Fort Bragg.
