RALEIGH — Campbell Law has scheduled five information sessions for its groundbreaking Campbell FLEX program, which allows students to earn a life-changing degree at their own pace. The sessions begin in October 2019 and run through June 2020.
A premium option of study for area residents looking to pursue alternative career paths, the Campbell FLEX program enables entering law students to earn a Juris Doctor degree by taking fewer hours each semester than required by the traditional full-time program.
“The Triangle is a vibrant area which continues to grow and attract the best and brightest minds and organizations on par with any region of the country,” Dean J. Rich Leonard says. “Many successful people in any number of professional careers have considered the idea of attending law school, but have been unable to make it a reality due to personal and professional obligations. Campbell Flex provides an opportunity to earn a law degree while maintaining a manageable balance between personal, professional and academic obligations without any regulations on employment status.”
Students enrolled in Campbell Flex will attend the same classes, taught by the same full-time and adjunct faculty members, that full-time Campbell Law students experience. Campbell Flex students will also enjoy the same access to law school amenities, including but not limited to, academic support, the law library, student organizations, and the Career & Professional Development Center.
Throughout the first two years of study under Campbell Flex, students are required to complete the standard first-year curriculum. Students must then complete the same course work required of full-time students.
Campbell Flex participants must complete all degree requirements within 84 months, take at least five credit hours in each fall and spring semester, and take no more than nine credit hours in each fall and spring semester. A student may at any time, subsequent to completing the first-year curriculum, elect to become a full-time student by enrolling in more than nine credit hours in a single semester.

The locations of each FLEX information session will be announced later this summer. All locations will be in Raleigh in or near the downtown area. Prospective students should register online for one of the following information sessions:
Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019 noon – 1 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020 noon – 1 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020, noon – 1 p.m.
Thursday, April 2, 2020, noon – 1 p.m.
Tuesday, June 2, 2020, noon – 1 p.m.
