Campbell Law Celebrates Class Reunions (1983, 1998, 2013 and 2018)

RALEIGH, N.C. – More than 150 people including alumni and guests descended upon downtown Raleigh on Saturday, April 15 to celebrate their Campbell Law School class reunions. Members of the Classes of 1983, 1998, 2013 and 2018 celebrated their milestone anniversaries during a dinner held at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences, located just a few blocks from the law school’s campus.

The evening capped off a near yearlong fundraising and engagement effort undertaken by law school administrators and volunteer committees from each class. Attendees came from far and wide throughout the state of North Carolina as well as other areas of the United States including California, Florida, South Carolina and Texas.

As part of the evening’s activities, the law school Dean J. Rich Leonard shared an update on all the exciting things taking place at the school including enrollment, competitive advocacy, job placements for students, bar passage success and more. “It was such a joy to see so many familiar faces and some new ones too.” said Leonard. “Tonight’s dinner includes multiple generations of Campbell alumni, some of whom earned their degree in Buies Creek, while others did so in Raleigh. However, they all share in being graduates of this great institution and having a positive impact in their communities.”

To conclude the formal program for the night the committee chairs from each class, Anna Marie Calabria, JD’83, Todd Jones, JD’98, Jina Propst, JD’98, Anna Hedgepeth, JD’13 and Terrie Nelson, JD’18 presented Dean Leonard with a check for $277,730 representing funds that were donated by class members to the law school throughout the 2023 fiscal year.

Following the check presentation, attendees enjoyed each other’s company over dinner. “It was wonderful to reconnect with my classmates, some of whom I haven’t seen since graduation. I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since we were all together in Buies Creek,” said Todd Jones. Terrie Nelson, whose class had the most graduates in attendance added, “Even though we’ve only been out of law school for a few years, we were very excited for the reunion. We don’t get to see each other nearly enough and I’m so happy that my classmates embraced this opportunity to gather.” Photos of the class reunion dinner can be found on the law school’s Facebook page at this link.
