RALEIGH, N.C. –The Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law boasts a strong tradition of community service, and the Hispanic Law Student Association further cemented that tradition over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Seven members of the student organization prepared six turkeys in their own homes and donated them to the Raleigh Rescue Mission’s “Gobbles to Go” project, which aims to provide hearty meals for elderly, shut-ins and low income families in the community.
“HLSA does its best to stay plugged in to the community,” said Anna McLeod, Vice President of Community Affairs for the Campbell Law Hispanic Law Student Association, who is in her third year. “One of the most important facets of our organization is service, and we know that in this time of the year there is a lot of need in our community. At times like this, we are eager to contribute and help out in as many ways as possible.”
The effort marked the second consecutive year that the Campbell Law HLSA has contributed to the “Gobbles to Go” initiative.
