RALEIGH, N.C. – The Campbell Law Career & Professional Development Center and Campbell Public Interest Law Student Association hosted the third annual Public Interest Law Expo at the law school on Thursday, Nov. 1. The forum provides an opportunity for law school students to gather information from an assortment of public interest organizations and initiatives, while networking and making introductions.
“Today’s expo provided an excellent platform for our students to learn about the legal advocacy goals of the participating organizations while exploring career opportunities such as internships and fellowships,” said Campbell Law Career & Professional Development Center Director Julie Beavers. “I am pleased to see increased interest in public interest law at our law school as it underscores our vision of developing lawyers who possess social compassion and the desire to serve others.”
Twelve organizations took part in this year’s Public Interest Law Expo, including the N.C. Housing Coalition, Disability Rights N.C., Southern Environmental Law Center, Campbell Law Senior Law Clinic, N.C. Institute on Constitutional Law, Wake County Guardian ad Litem, N.C. Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Legal Aid N.C., ACLU of N.C., N.C. Justice Center, and the Land Loss Prevent Project.
