RALEIGH, N.C. – On Saturday, July 9, 2011, Campbell Law School partnered with North Carolina Prisoner Legal Services, Inc. (NCPLS) to provide a free legal information clinic for formerly incarcerated men and women of the North Carolina Department of Correction.
Law students and volunteer attorneys from across the state joined in this effort and several Campbell Law students participated. “This clinic is made possible by many caring community members. I’m proud that Campbell Law continues tobe one of them,” said student coordinator Anna McLoud. “With the help of this clinic, formerly incarcerated people can begin to address any civil issues they have, and work toward the stability they need to thrive. It’s definitely a rewarding experience. ” This clinic was also sponsored by the N.C. Bar Association’s Professionalism Committee, and NC Advocates for Justice’s Civil Rights Section.
