Campbell Law launches bike share program

RALEIGH, N.C. – Add bikes to the case books and other items students at Campbell Law School count among their standard equipment as the fall semester gets into full swing.

Starting on Thursday, Sept. 8 Campbell Law will field bikes for shared use among students, faculty and staff on the downtown Raleigh campus to help them get around the capital city’s courtrooms, legal firms and other attractions.

The bike share program includes two men’s and two women’s orange bikes and are checked out on a first-come basis. Bikes must be returned by the time the building closes for the evening and participants must wear a protective black and orange helmet at all times.

The Campbell Law community is often on the go — visiting the N.C. Supreme Court, the N.C. Court of Appeals, the Wake County Justice Center and a bevy of legal firms all located within blocks of campus. In addition, Raleigh’s dynamic downtown boasts plenty of restaurants, museums and attractions.

The bikes help speed travel to and from these attractions — and speed is important to busy law students — as well as provide health benefits.

The bike share program further solidifies the Campbell Law community as a vital part of a bustling downtown that offers plenty to enhance its students’ career prospects and life experiences.

The City of Raleigh recently approved a bike sharing program which consultants say will be implemented within the next couple of years. In the meantime, Campbell Law rolls on!
