Campbell Law, Legal Aid to Hold 50B Project Together Training

RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law School and Legal Aid of North Carolina will host a 50B Project Together training session on Wednesday, March 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. at the law school. All attorneys interested in representing victims in 50B return of Ex Parte hearings in Wake County are invited.

Areas covered during live training and video replay include: interviewing a victim of domestic violence, preparing for trial, negotiating a consent order, representing a victim in order, and a view from the bench.

Campbell Law students, under the supervision of licensed attorneys, began taking referral 50B cases from Legal Aid in 2012. Through the 50B Domestic Violence Advocacy Project at Campbell Law, many victims have been successfully represented by Campbell Law students.

Continuing legal education (CLE) credit for the evening is currently pending with the North Carolina State Bar. Participants are eligible to take part free of charge upon committing to supervising two 50B cases in 2013. If interested in attending, please RSVP to Ms. Celia Mansaray at CeliaM@legalaidnc.org.
