Campbell Law names new Wallace Fellows

RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard has announced the three new Wallace Fellows tapped to work alongside the institution’s faculty and staff. Evin Grant, Devon Karst and Brittany Stiltner — all 2016 Campbell Law graduates — have been appointed as Wallace Fellows. Each was selected by an internal panel of law school faculty and staff.

“I am delighted that three of our most accomplished graduates from the previous class have decided to serve our law school as fellows for the next year,” said Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard. “Last year we had our first crop of Wallace Fellows, and they were fabulous. I have no doubt that Evin, Devon and Brittany will follow in their footsteps and be of great service to both our law school and community.”

The Jerry M. Wallace Law Fellowship Program consists of three full-time employment opportunities for recent graduates — the Wallace Advocacy Fellow, the Wallace Leadership Fellow, and the Wallace Public Service Fellow. The program is named in honor of Campbell University Chancellor Dr. Jerry Wallace, who served 12 years as university president before stepping down in June 2015. He remains an integral part of the selection process and is engaged with each fellow.

Grant, who hails from nearby Durham, is the Wallace Leadership Fellow. In this role he will assist Dean Leonard and the law school’s senior staff with development initiatives, alumni relations and career services. Grant earned his undergraduate degree from NC State University.

Karst, from Clayton, is the Wallace Public Service Fellow. She will assist in the management of Campbell Law’s pro bono programs, and work to conceptualize and seek resources to further pro bono and clinical development. Karst is a graduate of Appalachian State University.

Stiltner, a native of Tazewell, Va., will serve as the Wallace Advocacy Fellow. She will work with the advocacy faculty in the required trial practice curriculum, assist with interschool competitions and help administer the Boyce Center of Advocacy. Stiltner completed her undergraduate work at Radford University.
